How to Find Images with Ignored Faces

IMatch allows you to ignore faces instead of deleting them.
This feature is useful when you want to retain the information that there is a face in that area of an image, but you don’t want the IMatch AI to try to assign a person to that face. Features which use face annotations, e..g. face arrangement, work fine with ignored faces.

The {File.Faces.Ignored} Variable

If you later want to search for images with ignored faces, you can do so easily using the {File.Faces.Ignored} variable, in combination with the Variable Filter in the IMatch Filter Panel.

Configure it as shown in this image:

This screen shot shows the Variable Filter in the IMatch Filter Panel, configured to filter for deleted faces.

For each unique combination of faces in the selected files, the filter shows a row. Rows containing at least one Yes represent images with ignored faces.

Some Improvements Using a Formatting Function

You can improve the output of this filter by adding the contains formatting function to the variable, changing it to

{File.Faces.Ignored|contains:Yes,Ignored faces,No ignored faces}

The Variable Filter now shows only two entries:

A screen shot of the Filter panel with the results of the modified variable.

Just tick the box in front of the Ignored Faces entry to see all files which contain at least one ignored face.
