Delete all descriptions

Hello,
I would like to delete all descriptions of all photos in the database in the metadata. What is the easiest way?
I have set up a data drive category with the descriptions and tried to use the same procedure as deleting all keywords.
Deleting all keywords works with "Delete' while holding down the CTRL key" after I selected all keywords under categories.
But this procedure does not work for descriptions.

Select all files and empty the description tag in the Metadata Panel.
