DNG's converted from NEF's

When converting nefs to dng with dng converter, the file size in the 'file window' says 0 X 0. Once opened in PS and saved it says 1024 x 683 yet the actual size is 5600 x 3728. This seems to be an ongoing issue as reported on the internet. Is there a way for IMatch to display the correct file size of 5600 x 3728?

Does the thumbnail show?

What happens if you a) close ACR/Lr/PS and b) select the file, press Shift+Ctrl+F5 and force an update?
Adobe software often keeps files locked, inaccessible for other applications.

No problems reported when you run a WIC Diagnostics on that file?

This sounds like the installed DNG codec on your machine uis not happy with the DNG files your ACR variant is emitting.
Since Adobe makes changes to DNG whenever they want, this might happen if the DNG codec on your system is not supporting the format variant.
IMatch then cannot get the image dimensions.

I have also seen the Windows DNG codec crashing silently when processing some DNG files from certain cameras and Adobe products.
This may have the same effect.

Without an actual sample image (NEF + DNG + product versions used) there is little I can analyze.
I use the latest versions of Ps, ACR and Lr here and I have not seen this. My two mobile phones also output DNG files.

Here is the result of the diagnostic.

Mario

The DNG codec could only extract a rather small 1024x683 pixel image from that file.
This indicates that the DNG codec cannot handle the DNG variant you are using. DNG hasn't been a standard format for years, and Adobe bends it as they see fit.
IMatch should show that size, until other things also fail.

What did the forced rescan do? Any change?

The latest set of WIC codecs is here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/raw-image-extension/9nctdw2w1bh8?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

You must do a forced rescan after installing new codecs.

I installed the update and did a forced rescan on the existing 0x0 file size dngs. New size shows 5,568 x 3,712. Nef shows 5,600 x 3,728.

New nefs converted to dng still show 0 x 0 until I do the forced update. The file size shows 5,568 x 3,712. Can this be put this in auto mode in preferences?

Problem solved Mario. I looked at another post here which talks about programs like FPV codec and realized that I have File Viewer Lite on my system. I removed it and all is good now
Thanks

I also thought it must be some other software interfering, because I've used DNGs from NEFs for years without any issues aver.
