A simple headline below landscape and portrait in Batch processor

Hello together
I have a question that seems simple, but I can't find the answer.
On the other hand, I think it must be possible ...

I have pictures in portrait and landscape format.
Now I want to process such images with the "Image Batch Processor".
I want to use a canvas with space at the bottom to write the headline there.

I can't place the headline in a way that it appears with the same distance below the image in both landscape and portrait mode.

I checked a lot of possibilities in the "Text Overlays" (attachement), everything did not work.
Once I thought I had it, with a minus value and the image as reference (not canvas).
But this only worked for one line, as soon as the headline had several lines, it didn't work anymore.

Does anyone have an idea? I think it must be possible, but I can't do it ... maybe it's on Monday.  8)

As you can see in the attachement, the headline differs a lot between landscape and portrait.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

You mean like this?

Textblock relative to image. Background color same as canvas. Width same as image. Alignment bottom.
Note: I've relied on a bug fix / new feature introduced in the next release. I've just finished the bug fix yesterday morning so your results may differ. See https://www.photools.com/release-notes/ for more info.

The text block is part of the image and clips of the bottom of the image, mind. If you fill the text block in the same color as the canvas and make it full with, it looks like this.
There is no mode for Batch Processor text overlays which pin them below the image, at a specific distance, and independent from the size of the image.

If you make the canvas relative to the image, e.g. always adding 50px at the bottom to whatever size the image comes out, you get the same effect by aligning the text to the canvas. Of course it depends on the text length and wrapping how the final look will be.

If you use a fixes canvas size and set the image to one of the fill modes, you'll end up with the same output size and the same height of the image. This also allows you to use a more or less fixed position for the text.

If you use a fixed image height with a fill mode, you can align the text block relative to the canvas and then use the upper margin. For example, image height = 1000 pixel, text overlay upper margin = 1020px. This shifts the text overlay below the image and produces the look you want.

If you use images of varying heights in combination with varying amounts of text, you'll need to do some experiments. Or use Design & Print for more complex layouts and then print to image files instead of PDF or your printer.

This uses "Fill Center" for the image and 1000 x 1000 pixels.
The canvas is relative and uses Margins l/r/t/b 50,50,50,200
The text overlay is relative to the canvas and uses an upper margin of 1050 pixels (50 pixels below the image) and left/right margins the same as the canvas (50).
I used a blue color to show the text overlay position and size.

Thanks, Mario
for your lot of information.

It must be the monday: at first I could not get it still.

But I will try in the next few days again, and I will reread your info also.

Thanks!
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

It must be the monday:

It also happens to be the 140th anniversary of the birth of Sir Giles Gilbert Scott who designed that iconic red telephone booth, as featured in a UK Google Doodle today.... :)

Unfortunately, you don't see them that much anymore these days.
And I'm always keeping an eye out for a quite similar blue box when I'm visiting London  ;D

That´s it.

Phew,  :-[ I do so a lot with Design & Print, but almost always output as pdf, that I completely lost out of my mind, that I can use also single images.

And yep, that I will do!
I know D&P so well, that this will be easy stuff to create.  :)

Thanks a lot, Mario, to lead me in this direction!
We see again, there are several roads leading to Rome ... and IMatch gives us indeed several ways.

... ah, the cool red phone boxes. Yes, loweskid, they looked so homey but also mayestatic, phenomenal.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

This is often overlooked, but o so useful for so many things. From creating banner images for Facebook or YouTube to creating collages for many purposes...
