Duplicates search: Display duplicates together with original

A duplicate search displays the result in a result window.
The original is shown as a header and the duplicate is shown underneath it.
So one can only select the found duplicates in the result window.

I find it necessary to inspect both the original and the duplicate(s) side by side so as to decide which to delete.

I propose opening a second result window which displays both the originals and the duplicates.

Enable the option to display the original alongside the matches.

If you don't know about this feature, I recommend you re-read the help topic for the Result Window. You may miss other features too.
Search the IMatch Help System for result or click <F1> while a Result Window is open.

Thanks for this tip.  I wanted to do this also and was not aware of this option.

Hm, this was added years ago.

Tip: While in the Result Window, press <F1>. This opens the Result Window help topic. On the second page you'll find: Including the Original with the Matches.
Always a good idea to read the documentation of the features you use once. And then maybe again when you see that new features have been added in the https://www.photools.com/release-notes/.

Frankly, even I need the documentation from time to time for features I don't use often or have not used in a long time. Impossible to keep it all in your head.
Which is why I've created the 'Did You Know?'' App, which contains 60 or more DYK topics about various helpful but often overlooked features, options, commands, apps. I can only recommend that users let the DYK app open in a panel and read the DYK of the day... ;)

That's strange, maybe I have an issue with my installation.  When I hit F1 in the Results Window, I get help for the File Window instead:  https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#fw_basics.htm.  I do see quite a bit down the page under The Hierarchical Display Mode (Displaying files in sub-folders, child categories etc.) a reference that Result Windows have the option to include originals in the result.  But it took a bit of hunting.

In the past I searched IMatch help for "duplicates" and didn't seen anything on the 1st hit:  https://www.photools.com/help/imatch/#hdi_dupes.htm.  I should have (but didn't) follow the link on that page to Result Window and then would have quickly found the answer as you indicated.  I also checked the 3rd hit "Searching" but didn't see anything there.  Result Windows was the 13th hit and so I never got that far.

Even using Google and restricting the search to site:photools.com/help/imatch, I did not find the Result Window help with my first few attempts:
- duplicates select originals
- duplicates show originals
- result window select originals (this one did find the File Window help topic I mentioned above)

Eventually I found it with:
- duplicates including originals
- result window show originals

There is a tremendous amount of excellent and detailed information in IMatch help.  I often find what I am looking for but sometimes I don't.  Honestly, in this case it was not even completely even clear to me what I should search on.

I'm not complaining and don't have any suggestions for improvements, just making an observation.

And I will pay more attention to the DYK.  I've been using IMatch since 2006, but there are still quite a few features I haven't looked into.

When I type result into the File Window search bar, the first hit is "Result Windows"...
The <F1> does not differ between a File Window in one of the Media & Folders, Category, Collection ... or other views. A File Window used as a result from some search or manually opened by the user is still a file window.
