There is two things I could want with events:

1. To select several events at the same time to give them a category colour. Is it possible? I have created a lot of events based on folders. So I wanted to select all events belonging to category "Family" and give them the same colour.

2. To have the events on one screen and possiblity to drag the photos belonging to an event to the second screen. Could this be possible?

1. You can change the category of individual events, but not for multiple events at once.

2. Events based on folders or categories are dynamic and always update when the corresponding folder/category updates. You cannot add/remove files from this type of events.

When you have a manual event created from an arbitrary set of files -- it shows (Files) next to the event name --, you can
a) use Copy & Paste to copy the files from "somewhere" to the manual event
or
a) select the the event in the Event View
b) switch to another View, select files, drag them onto the Event tab at the top to make the Event View active and then drop them into the File Window

Ok.

Maybe you misunderstood my number 2. I meant that when I click on an event I wanted the possiblity to see the photos belonging to this event on a secondary display. This would give us more space to see the photos belonging to an event. Could this be possible to implement?

The files of an event can be viewed in the associated File Window.
Event File Windows are usually the largest file windows anyway. Remember that you can reduce the size of the event strip to free even more space for the File Window.
Use the Panel Size and View Scale controls in the Event View properties.

Or use a smaller panel size in the File Window to see more files. Or a layout which shows only the minimum information you need.

Or you can open the in a separate result window by selecting them and then opening them in a new result window with Ctr+G, R

Thank you! I will try this.

Imatch is really very customizeable. This was just meant as an idea, and feature request, to use the power of two screens and give even more space for viewing the photos belonging to an event.

You know that you can quickly hide all panels to make the File Window as big as the IMatch window? See Keyboard Cheat Sheet

You mean under View modes? (F12,...?)

Mario

No. In IMatch, when you press F9, Backspace as explained in the Keyboard Cheat Sheet, all docked panels are hidden to maximize the space for Views. Press F9,Backspace again to toggle back. See Keyboard Cheat Sheet for details. Just Ctrl+F for backspace on that page.
