Some newbie questions

Hello,

New to imatch and currently on trial version.
Have some questions.

1, it is possible to have overlay icon on video like play button ?

2, it is possible add tags from name of the folders ?

3, if I add new images to folder will it automatically detect them ?

Hi,

welcome to IMatch.

1. No. IMatch does not play videos (license problems, patent problems etc.).
IMatch shows you a small preview in the File Window (created from individual frames). To play your video, press <Ctrl>+<Enter> to open the file in your default video player.
See Opening Files in Other Applications in the IMatch Help System for details.

2. Yes. I assume you mean keywords when you say tags?
Note: IMatch uses the term metadata tag to refer to any metadata field.
The Keywords Panel

You can create a Metadata Template which automatically fills keywords (and other metadata tags if you want) from metadata via Variables

The variable {File.Folder} returns the name of the folder containing the file.
If you use this variable as the source in a metadata template and hierarchical keywords as the target, you can create a keyword from the folder name.
In the same way you could create keywords from the camera model, the author name or whatever you need.

The default template "Add camera name to keywords" included in IMatch can be used as an example.
Clone it and replace the Fill tags from this data contents with {File.Folder}
