Small Tablet or Laptop recommendation

I have been using Imatch for about a year to clean up my old mess of photos and have learned to really appreciate it, pretty much the only software I keep a PC for. I'm running it on a desktop though and would like to move to a tablet or small laptop, for jobs out and about - so that my initial upload and preview is right in the database, thinking something like a microsoft surface.

Does anyone have any good experience with a tablet or small laptop model? Looking for something that runs pretty well, doesnt get too hot, decent battery, decent screen, USBC X2 / SD card reader bonus. I would edit later on a mac so it doesn't have to be over the top or anything, 2nd hand is ok too.

I am using a Microsoft Surface laptop that is now about 2 years old.

I have had no issues using it for photo management with iMatch.  I am just now reaching the point where I will be adding some external storage (my internal disk is 256GB and as it is my general laptop there are many apps on it).

I am quite happy with it - quiet and cool running.
