Icons on Favorites: Like to use my own/more icons.

I have little screen space so I reduced my Favorites as shown on the screen shot.
This gives me in effect a row of buttons to perform frequent actions.

This would be more useful if I could make/use my own icons.
The icons available to be set are currently limited to a predetermined set - none useable for my purpose.

(Is there a trick how I can do this already?)
