Linking persons to non-image files (PDF, DOC) - is it supported?

As IMatch is a Digital Asset Management system I checked if the "linking files to persons" feature works for PDF and Office files - and it works!

The question is: is it "officially" supported, can I count on using that feature in my family archive project (linking not only images but also documents, videos, ebooks or other assets to persons)?

Links allow you to link persons to any kind of file.
