Considering to use IM Anywhere

I'm using IM for a very long time. To allow my better half a easy access to my photo DB, I'm considering to buy IMA on a virtualized server (Win 10 Pro) running on an Intel NUC. But as there are not many updates came the last years, I'm not sure, if either IMA is close to perfection, so no updates are necessary, or if IMA might go to be decommissioned.

Does it make sense to start using IMA?

I use IMA for sharing photos on my TV with family and friends... I have an older NUC PC hooked up to my TV via HDMI and use it for the browser capabilities.  Coupled with a wireless logitech mouse and keyboard combo - it is a great way to show off trips, etc without having to huddle folks around my PC.  Great addition to IM!

Usually every IMatch update also ships an IMatch Anywhere update to keep both suites compatible.
IMatch Anywhere always uses the latest version of IMatch Anywhere WebServices and IMatch Engine - the same versions included in IMatch. I ship all these updates for free until I release a new major version of IMatch Anywhere.
And, IMatch Anywhere HOME is dirt cheap.

IMatch Anywhere intentionally uses a much slower change cycle as IMatch.
It is (mostly) aimed at and used by commercial and institutional users. And it just works.
I get virtually zero bug reports or feature requests.

Frequent updates to features, changes in the UI etc. would only upset these users, because it usually requires re-learning, re-teaching, causing cost.
Same for families. If uncle Bob and grandma Susan have learned to use IMatch Anywhere WebViewer on their tablet, why change things all the time?

The IMatch Anywhere WebViewer included in IMatch Anywhere works on any modern browser and any platform and offers a comfortable browsing and viewing experience, simplified search, simplified metadata, keyword and category editing. For individual or multiple users at the same time.
That's all that's needed for a product like this I believe. When I think that things are missing, I will add them.

There are many applications out there which produce static/dynamic web galleries, add-ons for your NAS or OwnCloud and similar. If you don't need what IMatch Anywhere has to offer, maybe one of these applications does the job for you?
Whatever works for you is good. Try some out, the decide.

Thanks for your responses. I think, I'll have a closer look at it.
