Database Diagnostics Hangs At Categories

Something is wrong with one of the data driven categories of my DB.  It is taking an indefinitely long time in the refresh cycle and is thus freezing the program.  I'm attempting a DB diagnostics, but that too is hanging the program when it gets to Categories.  What should I do now? 

P.S.
While in the database diagnostics cycle I mentioned above, I had to close IMatch because it became unresponsive.  The attached log file corresponds to the same period of time as the trouble experienced.

No "slow" category" update has been logged in this log file.
The only slow operation is loading the database, which takes about 6 seconds.

Make sure your virus checker is not constantly scanning the database or the folder containing the database.
This is the reason for 90% of "IMatch is slow" support cases, and may also cause IMatch to hang or become unresponsive.

Please attach the diagnosis log file, perhaps it contains more info that helps to figure this out.

I managed to get the offending data driven category deleted!  It had the detect hierarchies option active for one of its levels (based on Copyright URL), which caused it to go haywire.

Copyright URL has no hierarchy. It's just an URL. I wonder what could go wrong with that.
