Thumbnails: Always in IMatch/Not Always In Windows

Right now, all of my mkv/mp4 files created in OBS Studio have a thumbnail when ingested into IMatch.  But, the same isn't true for all of these files when displayed in File Explorer.  Why is this, and what can I do about it.

Did you contact Microsoft support? What did they say?

Possibly some thumbnail handler is required for files created by OBS Studio?

Video files are an even bigger mess than images or RAW files.
Not all software supports all codecs or containers or stream variants. Or sometimes the don't support formats due to patent or license issues (often seen for Apple's HEIC/HEIF money grab format with over 1,000 patents attached).
