Caption Bar's Scope Of Possibilities

One of the functions of the caption bar is to show the size on disk of all the files currently displayed in the file window.  If these are audio/video, can the duration variable be somehow used to also show the current playing time of all the media files summed up?

I suggest you file a feature request and answer these questions in it:

What would be the purpose of this?
When is it needed and how often?
What if a mix of video files, audio files and other files are selected?
