The Events feature is very good and it really makes a difference for me to have this. Thank you for including this feature.

As I have several folders with copies of the same images e.g. one with no folder structure and one with the same pictures based on a year/month/date structure.
(Reason is that one folder with 50K pictures are a pain to work with in windows but much better in a program like iMatch. Sometimes I have to work in windows, though)

Proposal:
It would be very helpful if there was a possibility to create the events based on a folder (or folder sub-structure) so one does not get all the copies that will exist or have to make sure you select the ones from this specific structure when creating the event timeline.

So:
Being able to pick the location of the files on which to base the event timeline on. E.g. events from business pictures, events from family pictures etc.

I'm not sure I understand.
You can create events from folders (right-click the folder > Create events from all selected folders...) and you can choose whether or not to include files in sub-folders. And there is a possibility to filter for certain files.

I understand that you have, below the same "root" folder the same images multiple times.
And that you request a new filter for events that filters out duplicate files within the same folder structure.
I doubt that many, if at all, users have this particular folder structure. Having duplicate files is IMHO never a good idea.

Instead you should maybe consider using IMatch categories. Images can be in any number of categories without duplicating them physically on disk.

Hi Mario, thank you for your reply.

apologies for not being clear. This pertains to the function "create a new event/based on date ranges".
This will find all the files that correspond to the date range.

Now if you have created a database with several folder structures, e.g work and private, then it would be good to be able to restrict the finding of pictures to a specific folder structure, so you dont get an event created, including both work and private pictures :-)

So if it was possible to enter a file path also when you create the event based on dates, then it would limit the work you need to do "cleaning up unwanted pics".

Hope this makes more sense :-)
