[BBD] Viewer: "Show Annotations" not usable in Fullscreen mode

Hi there,

I have a JPG with a face annotation and am viewing it in the Viewer, which is configured to use fullscreen mode.
When I open the new Smart Menu (S) and click on "Show Annotations", that box gets a frame, but no annotations show up.
After closing and re-opening the Smart Menu, the frame is gone, so I guess the "Show Annotations" mode was not really activated.

When I do the same actions in the Viewer while it is configured to use Window Mode, it works as expected (Annotations show up, frame around the box stays).

It's a 4k Screen, set to 125% scaling.

I cannot reproduce this.
As soon as I click the panel int he Smart Menu to "Show Annotations" annotations are shown or hidden (this is a toggle).
It works in all Viewer modes.

Make sure you have not hidden the layer containing your annotations and that you are not displaying a proxy image, see Visual Proxy

Works for me. I can show and hide the annotations (faces as well as e.g. a user defined circle annotation). Works in Full Screen and Windows mode.

The only thing is that the Smart Menu is not synchronized when using keyboard shortcut A,E: If the Smart Menu is open, the state of the tile stays the same when pressing A,E, so the tile state does not always reflect the actual state. Closing and reopening the Smart Menu fixes this. Same is valid for using the Pause button in the annotation panel.

I am on Windows 11, in case this is relevant.

This has been fixed for IMatch 2023.1.10
In fact, the toggle annotations panel was the only panel that did not update when the user worked with keyboard shortcuts

Ok, I more or less understand the problem now, it was my fault, but unfortunately triggered by what I would call a bad user experience:

- Indeed an activated visual proxy kept the annotations from showing
- BUT I only needed to switch to window mode and the annotions could be activated
- I now saw that the state of the visual proxy (activated or not) is stored/remembered per display mode. So when I switched to fullscreen mode, the visual proxy was activated and deactivated when I went to window mode. Don't know if that's happening for a reason, but at least was surprising for me. I also didn't find anything in the docs.
- When I try to activate the annotations panel while the visual proxy is active, I get a warning popup hinting me to this conflict. But this does NOT happen when I try to show annotations. I'd suggest to add this warning also to the "show annotations" functionality, then I probably would never have written this report and wasted your support time.
