Since installing imatch 2023, i've lost the ability to create new people.  every time i try, i get the error message:

Quote(1102) Invalid parameter. { "parameter": "data.properties", "description": "Property 'group' does not exist." }

I've done several reinstalls of imatch, tested on different databases (and created a brand new database to test with), done db repairs/diagnostic check -- still get the same error message every time.  i just downloaded the newest release and still no luck.  imatch2023x64 and the imatch folders are excluded from DEP and other security scans in windows defender.

debug log is attached.  i cleared it before trying to add a new person and i saved a copy of the log immediately after getting the error -- so if there's any relevant information, it will be toward the end of the attached [though i looked and i'm not sure it says anything helpful]

seems like this is specific to me, as i would've thought it'd have been reported by now otherwise.  any ideas what's going wrong on my end?

1. Close IMatch
2. Delete the this folder:  C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch6\browser

It's the browser cache used by IMatch.
The error message would indicate that an outdated version of the Person Editor is used.
The group property was removed for IMatch 2023 since persons can now be in multiple groups.

Did you make a copy of the Person Editor app?
Or did you restored an old Pack & Go package created with an earlier IMatch version?
Did you install IMatch in a non-standard folder?

If the above does not solve the problem, delete the folder

C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch6\webroot

and then re-install IMatch.

fixed! thanks mario.

i had the app installed in standard program files folder, but i had my settings pointing elsewhere for the webroot folder -- and indeed, that folder was still the old version.  i just reset my settings to refer to the default location and it made my person manager look different (until clearing out the folder, i didn't even have the notification about adding someone to family after saving them) -- so i knew it was fixed.  sure enough, it lets me save new people again.

thanks as always!

Mario

Very good.
If you move IMatch folders to non-default locations, you have to make sure to copy/move the folders again after each update.
Windows Installer has no way to tell that you have moved some of the IMatch installation folders. It will always install into the default locations specified by the IMatch installer.
