Option to focus the current file in the Viewer

Currently, when working with files in the Viewer, we have the option to press Ctrl+G, to go to the Folder containing the current file, and focus that file in the main IMatch window, so that it's now also displayed in the Quick View Panel, and is the file referenced for Metadata and Keyword Panel updates.

But as discussed in this topic:

https://www.photools.com/community/index.php/topic,13619.0.html

...the files that have been loaded into the Viewer are often from scope/View other than the M&F View.  It would be great if:

1. The Ctrl+G Keyboard Shortcut focused the current file within the File Window from which it came, without switching to the Media and Folders View

- or -

2. Another Function Key (or a modifier to Ctrl+G, such as Shift or Alt) could provide that functionality (and focus the file within that "source View")

Number 1 may not be an option, since Ctrl+G is a "global command", available in many places in IMatch, to function as a "Goto Folder" command.  But perhaps number 2 would be possible?...

I liked this feature and implemented it.
There is now a "Goto file" open next to "Goto folder". The "Goto file" switches to the View and File Window (including Result Windows) from which the focused file was sent to the Viewer.

Hi, Mario.

That sounds great. So, if I understand what you're saying, there will be a new keyboard shortcut from the Viewer that opens the current file in the Quick View without changing the panel or scope?

No. What makes you think that?
The Quick View Panel always shows the focused file in the active File Window.
There is a lot of functionality linked to that, like stack navigation etc.
This will never change.

You can send arbitrary files to the Viewer.
To send a file to the Quick View Panel, just focus it in the File Window.

The new keyboard shortcut does exactly what I had thought it would do (though I don't think I expressed it correctly :). It really ties together parts of the interface that hadn't been before (for instance, I hadn't utilized Quickview much up to this point).

Before this release, all it took was a double-click in the file window to open everything in the File window in the Viewer. But after scrolling through the Viewer through different files, there was no convenient way to focus the current Viewer file in the current File window to see it in Quickview or edit its metadata.

Now, the new shortcut solves that completely. Fantastic!

Thanks, Mario!

I'm happy to hear that this works for you so well.

I have never seen this as a problem, since I just close the Viewer when I want to work on an image. This focuses the file automatically.
