Hi:

This might sound an outdated subject but when reinstalling Windows on a diferent disk and trying to open an imd5 file with Imatch 2018 I've got this message:

"This database was created or updated by a newer version of Imatch version. It cannot be opened with this version of Imatch.

Please download and install the most recent version ot IMatch."

The mentioned database could be opened this morning in another disk with the same system so I don't know what happened and how to solve it.

Could that imd5 file be opened by Imatch 2023?

Thanks in advance for your answer.

Mario

Almost every IMatch version upgrades the database in some way, to support new features or other improvements.
Databases are versioned. Once a newer IMatch version of IMatch has upgraded a database, older IMatch versions cannot longer open it and display this message.

It seems you have created or modified this database with an IMatch version newer than IMatch 2018.
IMatch 2018 is out-of-support for 5 years now.

You need to use the same or a newer version of IMatch to open that database.
Just install the latest IMatch version you have access to on your new machine. You can download your licensed products from the photools.com customer portal: https://www.photools.com/customer/
Or consider upgrading to IMatch 2023.

Mario:
I was almost sure my last Imatch licensed version was 2018 but it was 2019 indeed. My mistake was going to my download folder and seeing only 2018 install.
Anyway I've discovered just after purchasing Imatch 2023 so I'm upgrading my database and hoping it's worth.
Thanks for support!

Mario

When I recall correctly, I've granted a free upgrade from IMatch 2018 to IMatch 2019 back in the day.
That was 4 years ago, and in IT, this is more like two decades.... ;D
