Most filter panels already have an option to invert the filter in that panel.
Imo all filter panels should have this option, and I believe a feature request to that extend is posted already.

I propose to make the inverting of each panel a function of the main panel bar.
The triangle to open the panel should stay, but clicking on the bar itself should for each subsequent click apply, invert and disable the filter. Colours should change accordingly. eg.
gray is filter deselected
green is filter selected normal
red is filter selected inverted.

Why not have a "+" or a "-" in the square instead of the checkmark.
Would be consistent with how one marks categories to be filtered.

Is also a possibility, but it's easier to have the whole bar to click on than just a small square to aim for.
As long as the colour of the bar shows the status of the filter, it doesn't matter much which method changes the filter behaviour.

I think, this is a good idea, specialy the colours to make clear, if a filter is active or not. If we can invert the filter, ok, seems also a convienent way to do so.
And all "fine tuning" is under the triangle.

Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

Currently only the Category filter panel has a button to RESET ALL.
It is inconveniently located. I propose to add this button to the category filter panel
title bar. (Or maybe have ALT-Clicking the title bar reset all settings)

Such a RESET ALL button could also show, by its color, if some settings have been made in the panel.
