Hello,
i am trying to migrate iMatch from my old laptop to my new one.
When opening the database, i see an error code 17201 (see attachment).

What i did:
- synced all images and the database file using freefilesync (not what is saved under C:\..\photools\)
- ran pack&go on the old laptop and copied the file to the new one
- did a fresh install on the new laptop
- added an alias with the username of the old laptop
- ran pack&go to restore the created file. I chose the option "don't overwrite if file is newer"

Attached the logfile of the pack&go import.
I checked that the file is not write protected.

Would appreciate your help

Forgot the debug log file. Attached

The database system reports:
Physical database damage: 'database disk image is malformed'
which is a death note.

But Pack & Go reports:

Skipped (newer file exists) 'D:\Data\iMatch\iMatch_Familytree.imd5'.
Skipped (newer file exists) 'D:\Data\iMatch\iMatch_MyDatabase.imd5'.

so the databases were not restored by Pack & Go. Did you copy them manually before?

Quoteadded an alias with the username of the old laptop
This is what you must do on the new laptop. You are basically telling IMatch "Before I've used user name OLD and now I use NEW. But I want to access the settings of OLD as before.

Yes, first manually via freefilesync and then via pack&go.
Well i now deleted the image database and ran one more time pack&go import.
My database opens up and database diagnostic shows no error

But, the following is missing:
- all of my metadata panel  layouts
- all of my filewindow layouts

Have you set the Alias on the new PC?

Yes i did.
And i now exported the metadata panel layout and the file window layouts and reimported them on the new laptop.
I think everything is there now :-)
Any idea what else i could have missed to import?

Nope. Usually this just works.
Some settings are computer-specific and will not travel. But layouts and templates are stored in the database / settings database and are associated with the user name.
