IMatch is crashing when I rescan a folder(s). This has been consistent, however it also crashes when I am using other software in the background.
My database is ~275,000 files
My computer is:
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790K CPU @ 4.00GHz  4.00 GHz
32.0 GB
64 bit

This log file shows an IMath start and then I see some warnings from a WIC codec ("image format is not recognized"), some ExifTool warnings about some minor issues and then a handled error while performing face recognition with the same WIC error message ("The image is unrecognized."). Then the log file ends.

When IMatch crashes, it creates a DUMP file with instructions, see The Debug Dump File
In that case, upload the file to your cloud space and send me a public link to support email address

When this does not happen, IMatch was terminated by Windows because some system component, driver or WIC codec crashed "outside" of IMatch. Looking at the WIC error message, it is likely that the WIC codec crashed and Windows then terminated the calling process (IMatch) for "safety".

The problem images are in the folder E:/IMAGES/PHOTOS/2024/202401/2024-01-04/Aiden/
I don't see the file names since the log is not in debug mode.

Do you have installed a 3rd party WIC coded for DNG files or only the default Windows WIC codec?
Run a WIC diagnosis on a DNG file in IMatch and attach the result (DO NOT COPY & PASTE), save to a text file and attach.
See WIC Diagnostics for details.

Maybe LibRaw has no problems with the DNG variant you use?
Go to Edit > Preferences > Application. Search for photools and then enable "Use photools.com RAW processing".
Restart IMatch.
If this fixes the issue, there is a bug/incompatibility with the WIC codec and the DNG files you are using.

The DNGs I have are generated by Adobe RAW.  I edited the preferences as you instructed, restarted IMatch and this has fixed the problem. a huge list of potential problem codecs was listed along with a recommendation to uninstall them all.  I will do that.  Thank you for your help, I appreciate it.

The 'FastPictureViewer Codec Pack' codecs are indeed many years out of date and no longer under development.
They can cause all kinds of problems with modern RAW formats, which is why IMatch displays this warning in the WIC diagnosis log file.

Probably the FPV DNG codec was used, crashed when processing your DNG files and Windows terminated IMatch because of that.
