Category color coding in viewer film strip

Hi,
I'm nearly sure that I was seeing the category color coding in the viewer film strip without the details option active.
Is that possible? If not, is it possible to make the details film strip shorter? I onlyl want the color coding and if I toggle the details option the film strip gets quite large.
Related to this, can I show the categories with a variable anywhere in the status bar or the film strip?

The category color bar is part of the Details mode for the film strip and cannot be activated separately.

The Viewer shows the category colors also in the Collections overlay. Toggle via <T>, <Q> or via the <S> key Smart Menu.



This file is assigned to two color-coded categories (blue and red).

If you open the Category Panel in the Viewer (T,E), and activate the Current Tab, you will see all the Categories the file is in (including the @Keywords Category if that option is enabled in the Panel Toolbar/Ribbon).

Since the film strip shows the File Window Tip when the user positions the mouse cursor over a thumbnail, the user can just include the categories in the tip, e.g. via this variable:

This variable lists all the categories assigned to a file. Many examples for this variable in the Variables help topic.
