I've replaced my computer and now copying across software.
I've lost annotations of photos on new computer.
I used Pack and Go to transfer.
I also copied files in C:\Users\xxx\AppData\Roaming\photools.com
Same as recommendations in Help file.

User name on old and new computers are the same.

What have I missed?
Thank you,
Aubrey

Mario

Which type of annotations do you mean?
IMatch annotations (face and others) are stored in the database. They cannot get lost.
Make sure you have copied the database to the new PC and also opened the right database.

I am meaning text annotations.
It seems to be a display issue.

The text annotations are present in the new computer, but they are not displayed.
I've checked on some older files, it is the same situation.

See attached files.
The file "oldComputer.png" shows the annotations correctly
On the file "newComputer.png" the text is not displayed inside the text box. You will note that in the right panel the text is available.

Is the Lucidia Sans font installed on the new computer (supplied with Office, not Windows) ?

Aubrey

David,
Many thanks for your insight, and taking the time to post.
I changed font to Book Antiqua just to check, now the text appears.
As you suggested Lucidia Sans must not be installed.

Thank you,
Aubrey.

Very strange. Windows is supposed to automatically provide font substitution if a font is not found.
According to the official Windows 11 font list
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/typography/fonts/windows_11_font_list
Lucida Sans is available.

Lucida Sans Unicode comes with Windows. Lucida Sans comes with Office. Probably money saving.

Thanks for the info.
I wonder why Windows does no font substitution in this case, causing the XAML render to render nothing. Very strange. But so is Windows...
