Time Wiz (and other apps) not showing in App Panel drop down selector.

I was trying to get the time wiz to dock into a panel for easy access, however I do not see it as a selection in the drop down list. I could swear that at one point I got it to doc, but I don't know how because I just discovered this useful feature. I just remember seeing it docked and thinking how great it was that I did not have to constantly be opening it and closing it.

It seems other apps are not being listed as well from the list.

The TimeWiz is a modal app which runs it it's own dialog / window. You cannot put it in an app panel.
If you want easy access, make a Favorite for it or use the Command Palette.

OK. I read the favorites section, but it did not specify how to do it with an internal app, or an app that resides in IMatch, if you will.  I tried dragging the icon from the application panel and also from the Microsoft explorer folder linked to it through a right-click (the .json file) and neither worked. How can I get the Time Wiz on the favorites panel?
