Result Window - Extra "X" to close showing?

I'm not sure if this behavior has always been present or if this is new but if I open a new result window, there is the normal "X" on the result tab as expected but a "phantom X" appears on the far right side as well.  Clicking the X closes the result window...

If this is working as expected, then do we need the extra "X"?

Thx - Andy.

I think this is normal. It's all managed by the 3rd party UI toolkit anyways, not by IMatch.

Ok.. odd I don't think I noticed before.

Also, just curious (I may be missing it) - but is there a setting to turn the white window bar dark?  With the dark theme and the colorful icons, I find the white borders on the window and panels to be a bit distracting.

"White windows bar"? You mean the caption bar at the top of the IMatch window?
Which version of IMatch are you using? In the 2023.8.6 it looks like this:

Yes - the caption bar at the top.  I was using 2023.8.2 and it is white... updated to 2023.8.6 (sorry - I've been busy!) and the bars are still white... Hmmmm... this isn't happening in other windows programs on my system like Indesign, etc.

I also notice your tabs and tab icons are much smaller than mine are... less "bulky", better aligned and shorter.

IMatch tells Windows explicitly to use a "dark" background color for the caption bar via the Windows Desktop Manager.

The smaller icon and tab size was introduced again on request and after a discussion.
The caption now uses a font size based on the IMatch menu font size (Edit > Preferences > Application: Menu Size) + 2 pixel.
I use menu size "Normal", which matches the default Windows menu size.

Interesting.. I have my preferences set to Normal for all menu size.. but it seems larger to me?

Hm, Windows 10. That explains that.

I've just looked up the Microsoft documentation for the Desktop Window Manager (DWM) functions I use to change the caption bar color. While DWM is supported since Windows Vista and XMP, it seems that:

DWMWA_CAPTION_COLOR: Use with DwmSetWindowAttribute. Specifies the color of the caption.
This value is supported starting with Windows 11 Build 22000.

So on legacy Windows 10 IMatch cannot change the caption bar color that way. The alternative would be to write code that completely replaces the caption bar rendering, including drawing the borders, the icons for min/max/restore etc. I think I don't want to go that route - since such things usually become a "project" and often don't work reliably across Windows versions etc.

IMatch asks Windows for the menu font and uses it. When you dial in "Larger" or "Big" IMatch scales the menu font size by 1.25 and 1.5. Different Windows versions used different system fonts and menu fonts. This will also depend on which "theme" you have selected for Windows. And I think in W10 you can customize menu fonts and caption bar heights and whatnot? I don't have Windows 10 running anywhere at the moment, sorry.

No worries Mario... someday I'll get the energy to update my OS to win 11... no reason for me not to at this point but since it is working well for me, I'm always hesitant to make the switch.

Of course, could I justify buying a NVMe drive if I install Win 11?  8)

Thx for helping solve the mystery!

A 2TB .m2 SSD costs about 130 and ~ 180 US$ (Samsung Pro) and I consider this OK.
Windows 10 support runs out October 2025, so you have plenty of time to consider.
