erratic sort order in custom view after moving and viewing

This is a very old one - nevertheless annoying.

How to (re)produce:

Media & Folders view
File Name sort order in file window
right mouse click, additional functions, reset custom sort
select [Custom] sort in file window -> sort order remains, okay
select a sequence of some (e.g. 5) images with the mouse (left click + shift left click)
move the selected images to a different location in the file window
their sort order remains -> as intended, okay
open viewer (double mouse click in my configuration)
move around in viewer with arrow keys -> okay
leave viewer (Escape in my configuration)
The sort order of the just moved images now is erratically scrambled -> they have to be rearranged one by one

I can't recognize any pattern how they are shuffled.

This has been resolved for the next release.
The specific situation of selecting files, manually reordering them, opening them in the Viewer (which uses the selection order) collides with the ability of the Viewer to promote/demote images (to produce manual orders).
