In the Folders & Media view, it is very annoying that when I click on a folder with only subfolders, the button bar disappears and I can't switch on the hierarchical view.
I first have to click on a folder with images, switch the hierarchical view on and then switch back to the folder above.
Because very often, I want to go to the upper folder and then see all images in the levels below, but I don't want the hierarchical view on all the time.

When you have the Album View enabled and it kicks in, the File Window changes and shows the Album View. It has no toolbar or ribbon except for the configuration options. There is no need for the Album View to control hierarchical display options.

You can click on the disable option at the bottom of the Album View to disable it and return to the normal File Window. Which also shows the button that opens the hierarchical display menu.

If you don't like the Album View, disable it in the settings.

See Album View for more information.

Why should there be no toolbar or ribbon in the album view?
There are functionalities that are useful, without having to switch off the album view.

This is how I designed the special album View. Minimal distractions.

Ok. I have now completely disabled album view. That works better for me.
