Suppose I have created a variable in the file windows layouts, let's say for all with a red pin.

This variable fades in a text (this is quite possible with the custom variables).

Is there a way, when I scroll through images, that this text only appears for e.g. 2 seconds, for example, and then disappears again?
Maybe a variable that is "bound" to the current time, and disappears again if 2 seconds more than the current time?

Or another idea.

Background: If there would be such a variable, I would e.g. create a BIG text or an icon, what I can see very quickly under a lot of thumbs on the screen. But after 1, 2 seconds this big text would disappear again (or change into a normal text).
This would help me, quickly scroll through hundreds of images, search e.g. for a red-pin-image.
I know, I could search/filter for it, but this is not, what I am looking for.

No, that's not possible.

Maybe use labels instead of custom variables. That's what they are designed for.
Create a File Window Layout that uses the label color to tint the background of the icon panels.
See the default "Thumbs with Label Colors" File Window Layout.

If you give your "outstanding" label a really ugly color, it will immediately highlight all the files with that label. Even when scrolling quickly.

Thanks, Mario.

I will look into this, I appreciate your quick, nope, VERY quick answer!  :)
Of course I use labels with tint the background.

I have to think about this.
