I have beern trying to extract from a number of jpg images the XMP::xmpMM\HistoryWhen\HistoryWhen\0 metadata using:
{File.MD.XMP::xmpMM\HistoryWhen\HistoryWhen\0}
but I get nothing, even though the metadata can be seen using exiftool.  (I note also that the tag can't be seen in the Browser view of the Metadata Panel.)

Please can you help?  I'm attaching a sample image and a zipped result of the Metadata Analysis tool.

ExifTool supports currently about 15,000 tags, most of them not useful for humans.
There are also tags e.g. produced by Lightroom, which record every brush stroke a user has made, sometimes producing metadata volumes that rival the actual image data.

In order not to flood the database with useless fluff and to keep search times down, IMatch does not import all tags in your files.
For some known bulk tags, IMatch by default ignores the tags.

For example, the MM history in your file shows:

[XMP-xmpMM]    History Action                  : created, converted, saved, saved, converted, derived, saved
[XMP-xmpMM]    History Instance ID            : xmp.iid:f7328132-a8fe-8e4a-ba10-3975fb3ab03b, xmp.iid:7a02c219-b614-0d4e-be50-ee70e5727500, xmp.iid:f022b9dc-a9f2-de4b-973b-040056775c7b, xmp.iid:2184b9a5-652c-084d-9e32-90884b47a898
[XMP-xmpMM]    History Software Agent          : Adobe Photoshop 25.11 (Windows), Adobe Photoshop 25.11 (Windows), Adobe Photoshop 25.11 (Windows), Adobe Photoshop 25.11 (Windows)
[XMP-xmpMM]    History When                    : 2024:08:11 20:44:43+01:00, 2024:08:11 22:00:24+01:00, 2024:08:12 19:17:09+01:00, 2024:08:12 19:17:09+01:00
[XMP-xmpMM]    History Parameters              : from image/tiff to application/vnd.adobe.photoshop, from application/vnd.adobe.photoshop to image/jpeg, converted from application/vnd.adobe.photoshop to image/jpeg
[XMP-xmpMM]    History Changed                : /, /, /

This is probably information not useful for many.
IMatch by default imports selected groups of tags from the XMP-xmpMM namespace, like document and instance ids ans useful data like that. All else is ignored.

You can tell IMatch if you want to import additional tags via the Tag Manager
Locate the XMP::xmpMM namespace on the left, and then enable the additional tags you want to import from this on the right by ticking their boxes.

Then select the files in questions in a File Window, press Shift+Ctrl+F5 > Reload Metadata (do a write-back before if needed!) and the MM history tags you need will be imported and show up in the Metadata Panel.
