A number of of folks here, including me, use Macrium Reflect for backups. Earlier this year, they announced a new Reflect X with a number of enhancements, including faster backups, ARM native compatibility, ability to resume backups if interrupted, etc.

I had renewed my Home license in September, but wasn't aware of the upgrade. I happened to check my backup files on Sunday and discovered that no backups had been made since December 12. I immediately started Macrium and got a pop-up message 'License not registered to this hardware'. I emailed Macrium support to find out what was going on. This morning, I got their response, asking me to start Macrium with the Support Wizard to collect diagnostic data. When I started Macrium, I got a message telling me that an upgrade to Reflect X was available so I did so (no extra cost)(didn't bother trying to run the support wizard). After installation and reboot, Macrium is now running properly and making backups.

I'm posting this here in case any other users weren't aware of the upgrade and might have had similar issues. I suspect in my case that there was a glitch in the Macrium license server. You may want to check your backups and also look for the upgrade.

Thx for the note.. Macrium Reflect luckily working here for me.. chugging through my many backup schemes to keep things nice and backed up!

Thank you John.

My Reflect backups are also functioning properly under Reflect 8.

I recently also subscribed to Reflect X...(but have yet to actually install the upgrade).

Like many have said here, I'm not really a fan of the subscription model, but I consider Macrium Reflect an essential product, so I willingly subscribed.  I also subscribe to Microsoft 365, so now this makes two Software Subscriptions for me.

I have occasionally wondered whether or not I should get an Adobe subscription, but so far have not done it...(I'm not a heavy enough Photoshop user to warrant it).  I have Photoshop CS5 (which I purchased at a deep discount, back when Adobe was moving to subscription), and it still works perfectly well for me.

But if Mario were to take IMatch to a Subscription Model, I would not hesitate to subscribe!...

I've subscribed to ReflextX (upgrade from 8 ) during the black week, which gives me a 50% annual rebate forever ;)
I've posted here about this rebate while it was running.

I have a version 7 running on an older PC. When I replace this PC, I will get myself another Reflect license. It is essential.
