Just one remark: In the customer portal, the note on IMatch Anywhere 2019.42.2 says: " IMatch Anywhere 2019.30.2 and later are only compatible with IMatch 2023. ". I assume this should be a compatiblity update for IM 2025, shouldn't it?

I'm aware of the outdated comment in the customer portal. I still have 71 points on my to-do list for this upgrade launch, and I will look into this tomorrow.

No I didn't have any problems with Defender, but I went ahead and added an exception for the IMatch executable anyway.

I also had no problems with Defender complaining about IMatch 2025 (even before adding an exception for the new executable), but it did complain about the installer, as discussed here:

Always verify that the installer is signed by me. The scary Windows warning shows you the name used for the certificate. I have to pay 300€ per year just for this certificate, confirming that I'm me

No. DYK was always only in English. I don't have the resources to translate this into other languages, sorry.

Another problem with importing the new panel layout: it got doubled, german and english, like
1 Default
1 Standard

4 IPTC Metadata
4 IPTC Metadata1
is ok, as the 2nd one is the new one

But I'm confused about the positions 5-7, see screenshot:

Upgraded. Updated Metadata Panel Layouts as described. No warnings or anything else with Defender (Win 11 24h2).

Just working thru things and found the new Timeline option to use "Original Date and Time" as the timestamp. Absolutely fantastic Mario.....
I can't thank you enough for adding this option.

Norton360 stops execution of the installer, but after 30 seconds says that it seems to be okay.
The new version looks great. No problems sof far.

just upgraded -- looks and runs amazing!!! thank you!!! one question -- i saw the release notes about the new performance settings with various percentages to set per task, but in the actual settings panel -- the "performance" section only has 1 setting -- "performance profile."  i like the idea of the more fine-grained control that the release notes show -- is there some setting i need to check to make those extra performance settings available (i have tried wiht expert mode both off and on), or are the release notes just out of date? (no worries if so)

again, looks and runs great - thank you as always for amazing software.

I've decided to simplify this rather technical setting and to allow users to choose a performance profile if they ever see the need to change how IMatch utilizes resources. See the corresponding help topic Performance Profile for more information.

Ooops.... I wrote technical support with the following. I now realize I should have posted my question here... Anyway here it is:

I am registered user associated with my email address.

I received an email this morning saying a great new version has come out. Version 2025.1.6

Before I apply this update can anyone explain (not found in forums or release notes) what exactly you have ditched so the installer executable has gone from 347mb to 296mb. It looks suspicious. A major release that is smaller

I am worried. Nowhere do you explain how to apply the upgrade. I was 2 versions late. I forgot to install 2023.14.2 from 2023.14.1, Do I install the intermediate update I forgot to install and then install 2025 or do I immediately install the latest immediately.

As I explained in the email, IMatch now longer ships with the AI model from Google used by the old AutoTagger.
When you use Ollama, you download the model you want to use yourself (they are several gigabytes in size).

This reduced the size of the IMatch installer considerably, which is a good thing, I believe.

After 2 days I dared to upgrade, because there were only positive reactions.
With my approximately 330,000 images I am always rather cautious.

But the upgrade went smoothly.
In the meantime I have been able to import several days of images without any errors.

Now, I finally have the new fresh icons back.😍

I will gradually test the new functions including AI.

Congratulations and I hope every customer will buy the upgrade.

There are so many critical bug fixes (ExifTool, database engine, Chromium browser component used for App Panels, IMatch of course) that I truly advice to install IMatch 2025 as soon as possible.

Am Donnerstag gegen 10 Uhr Geld überwiesen. Am Freitag 19 Uhr Linzenz erhalten - hat tadellos geklappt und bin mit FastSpring sehr zufrieden.

Dowload über IMatch  > Customer Portal ok, Installation mit Fehlermeldung (Anwendungen beenden oder so ähnlich) . Hätte ich vlt. ignorieren können, bin aber lieber raus, habe IMatch beendet und über das Downloadverzeichnis installiert. Alles lief glatt durch.
Soweit ich das übersehen kann, hat alles seine Richtigkeit, auch die Größe der Ions, usw. Nun geht es ans Detail, aber Marios Zuverlässigkeit lässt mich nicht nervös werden. Vielen Dank.

As always Mario great work with the new version. Each has been a substantial upgrade over the last.

My new icons were very large on my 1920x1080 screen, even at Normal. Others may seem the same and wonder what is going on. I tried changing the Icon Size in the menu but it made no difference. I was part-way through asking when I noticed the Ribbon Height menu. Dropped it from 32 to 18 and the icons are much better sized on my screen.
