The default ribbon height is based on the default text site Windows reports for menus, plus 4 pixels margin.
Which default size did IMatch pick for your screen? 1920 x 1080 is the lowest resolution I use on one of my test machines.

Which DPI scaling do you use? 100%
Do you have enabled text scaling ("Make text bigger") in Windows?
Can you attach a screen shot of the default ribbon size so I can get an impression on how this looked (when the icons were too big for your taste)?

In IM2023 it was possible to set the number of parallel threads - If my memory isn't playing tricks on me.
Was this setting replaced by the Performance Profiles? If not, where can I found the number of parallel threads?

Yes. See release note 2633 and the updated help topic.

Hi Mario,
Not sure what you are asking for with "Which default size did IMatch pick for your screen" How would I check that? It filled the screen the same as IMatch 2023 did. Was just the icons that changed.

DPI scaling is 100%. No other changes for text scaling in Windows.

Here are the original screen shots with ribbon height 32. I didn't change anything else. It's now 18 and I'm happy with that and have included an adjusted screenshot.

Regards, David
Have you backed up your photos today?

That's would be the ribbon height IMatch shows in Edit > Preferences > Application: Ribbon Height before you modified it. It should be something between 28 and 32 pixel, depending on the standard Windows menu height.
The minimal ribbon height is controlled by the height of drop-down controls, like the Layout selector in the Metadata Panel. These are provided by Windows and have a fixed height.

1920 x 1080, 100% scaling. I'll check that.

Now I could also download then newest IMatch 2025!

The process for paying went smooth and fast, no problems.
Now I am also a proud owner of the newest and best DAM.  :)

Before I do now the real installation, I will first copy the whole IMatch-folder, databases and so on.

Then I will click double-click on the installer.

Mario, thanks for your work.
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

Very good. Thank you for your business.
I'm sure you'll enjoy IMatch 2025.

Many users have already upgraded over the past two weeks, and the inevitable initial bug findings have been addressed by me with timely update (just released the 2025.1.14 a few hours ago).

Completed the upgrade today.  I haven't done any real work with it yet but took a look around.

I really like the icons added to the menus and the new file window layout pull down list is much clearer as to what is the current layout. I also appreciate the improvements to the Filter Panel for 'Rating, Label, and Collections' - which I use frequently.

I preferred some of the old icons but that is really just about being different.  I will quickly forget them and just enjoy the benefits and fresh look of IMatch 2025.

Overall the user interface is a notch or two better.

I am not sure the AI is useful for my needs but all of the other improvements in an already excellent product and the great customer support from Mario makes this a very worthwhile purchase.

Thank you.

That's probably inevitable. But I consider the new icons much better, and looking at the old screen shots in the help system with the old icons now looks strange. But I've been using the new icons for months now ;)

Thank you for your business. Every user who upgrades helps the IMatch project now and for the future.

If you have a fairly fast graphic card, you can try out AI for free with Ollama.
Mistral offers a free quota and processing a couple of thousand images will cost you maybe 50 cents. Or a dollar.
Same for OpenAI.

Well worth a try. It's also fun and you will be envied by your peers because you're one of them fancy AI users ;D
