Mario your work is great and I can't imagine how much time you spend on product development for such a low cost product.

Because of that I give you a lot of slack on the documentation  :)

So I just installed the newest version of iMatch and am excited about playing with the AI Metadata. I have it set up and all seems to be working but there's a lot I don't understand.

I've poured over the The IMatch AutoTagger help page but seem to need some further guidance.

Probably stupid questions where I missed the instruction but...

How do I display the AI Metadata Panel?
I finally found the special AI tags using vartoy but is there any other method?
How would I remove all of this AI generated content?

Thanks for you time.
Best,
Mike

I assume you mean the AI Tags Metadata Layout (which is just a layout configured to display the AI tags in the Metadata Panel).
  • Open the Metadata Panel.
  • Use Edit Layouts buttonin the Metadata Panel toolbar.
  • Click on the Import Panel Layouts button.
  • Import the layout from "AI tags.immdl". You can find this file in the Presets folder:
    %PROGRAMDATA%\photools.com\imatch6\Presets

which explains about the AI Metadata Panel layout etc.

Hm. OK.
As always, when you find missing or unclear information in the very comprehensive and complete IMatch help system, considered as generally very good by many, you can let me know via the feedback link available at the bottom of each help page.

Mario please don't take my comment as criticism. Your documentation IS comprehensive and complete. I guess where I'm coming from is over 40 years in the telecommunications industry with the last 10+ at Cisco (where asking a dumb question could get you shunned) I've learned that most documentation is written by someone who understands the subject FOR someone that understands the subject.

Trust me, after my experiences at Cisco I literally spend hours studying the docs before I post any questions.

My only complaint is with the search function which only returns the topic index. It would be nice if search covered all content.

Even doing a google search focused on your site didn't return the info you posted above ["AI tags" site: https://www.photools.com/help/imatch]

The search is full-text and indexes all words in the help text with more than 3 characters not on an ignore list. When I recall correctly.

Google still lists the new help system as "Started", so the Google Bot has not indexed it yet.

The Upgrading to IMatch 2025 - Things to Do is shown directly at the top of the help system, with a blue box.
I have also linked to it on the "IMatch 2025 - What's New" page linked to at the top of this community (big RED notice) and included in the email I have sent to users on Tuesday.

These topics always compile the most important things to know and things users have to do.
I know it is often ignored, but what can I do?
