I use face recognition for all my family photos and I am quite pleased with the results.  Sometimes, it even suggests a person that makes me realize that my own first guess was wrong - it was right and I was wrong.

I have birthdates entered for everyone in my Persons entries.  I set the Date Subject Created to the right year before I run face recognition.

Yesterday, I had a couple of suggestions for people who weren't even born in the year of the photo. To be specific, I had photos from 1924 and 1925 with young children, people who were born in 1928 and 1930 were the suggestions.

In terms of face matching, the suggestions were reasonable (siblings) but the birthdate should have excluded them from consideration.

IMatch is not supposed to suggest not yet born or deceased persons passed away.
Is the "consider lifetime" option enabled under Edit menu > Preferences > Application?
What was the date, exactly and what were the day of birth for the wrongly suggested persons?

Problem solved.

I did not realize that this was an option and it was set to the default of 'off'.  I had assumed it was already considering lifetime - a more detailed reading of the Help would have told me this.

This will reduce the number of times it suggests the wrong one in terms of mother-daughter and father-son.

I did consider making this on by default, but decided against it.

Date and times of images are often all over the place, especially for users who come new to IMatch and have their image collection in a bad shape. Enabling this feature by default would probably badly impact assignment precision.
