Hi Mario:

I'm planning a 7 hour car trip.  I have room for the Pack and Go database on my Laptop but not the actual images database.  How would you suggest I proceed if I want to take the Pack and Go on the Laptop and be able to save all of my work so when I return, copy the modified database back to the Desktop so all the changes would then be applied to the images?

Thanks!

Michael

I suggest you read the Traveling with IMatch topic in the help. If you still have questions, please reply here.

Hi Mario:

Because I couldn't use the most recent Help file I was using the one prior to the last release and I did look in there and didn't see this.  This must be a new addition.   I am trying it now.

Thanks for the feedback ...

Mike

Yes. This was new for build 134. This is also explained in the release notes - which you can't read because they are also included in the help file.
Did you try just copying the CHM to another folder, e.g. the destkop? IMatch will not find it there, but you can open it in Windows Explorer to read all the cool new stuff.

Mario:

Just did.  Great explanation on exactly what I want to do.  I plan to just copy the cache (not the images).  Do I understand correctly that all the changes I make will "stack up" on the Laptop and I will see the yellow pencil but the writebacks to the images will wait until I get back and copy my files to the Desktop?  At that point the metadata changes will be written to the images?

Thanks!!!

Mike

Mario

You have to write the changes to the files either on the laptop, or after copying the database back (and the images).
