Filter Search Problem

I am not sure whether I got it right, but the filter doesn't really work properly in my case when I apply it. Say I want to show files which own the categories 'Best of 2011' And 'Best of 2012'. So I first highlight in Media & Folder View the main directory (all other folders are subdirectories). Then I open the Filer Panel and clear Active Filter. Then I go into Categories in the filter panel and klick on the two respective categories and combine them with an AND. Then I click Categories in the Filter Window as well as Filter Panel (unter Filter Manager) and apply the Filter. In the main window the headline turns blue but no pictures, although there are quite a number matching the criteria.
I have tried it with other categories and other combinations and no combinations, but no luck either.
Funnily enough when I apply only the Attributes Filter, to look for some specific Title, the filter works as expected. I seems to me as if there was another "hidden" search item, which then results in no findings.

I went through the Help file several times, but just can't figure out, what I do wrong.

You want to see all files which are in category "Best of 2011" and "Best of 2012".
This sounds to me that these categories are disjoint: An image is either in "Best of 2011" or in "Best of 2012"?
If this is true, then you must combine the categories via OR, not AND.

You have a point. Unfortunately the OR didn't solve the problem as can be taken from the attachment.

In the screen shot you are looking at a folder in the Media & Folder View.
But you have not enabled the hierarchical mode in the file window, which means that the file window shows only the files in the selected folder (PHOTO CANON) but not the files contained in it's sub-folders.

Unless the files you are filter for are in this folder, you won't see them.
