Hi Mario,

is there a reason, that there are a second symbol of IMatch in the taskbar (if I put IMatch in the taskbar)? All other programms get just a little bit other backgroundcolor.

Mario

Is this while IMatch is not running? Or while it is running? While a Viewer is open perhaps?

Same here while running (not viewer). IM5 is pinned to task bar. If I click to start,  a 2nd icon appears in the task bar.

No other program in my PC (about 15 pinned to TB) does this. They all change the original icon to a 3-D appearance (even IM3 doesn't do what 5 does in this regard). Not a problem, but when you accidentally click the original you are told that IM5 is already running (doing the same with 3 when 3 is already running simply switches the window's focus to 3 if it didn't already have the focus).

Just to understand you:

1. You have IMatch already running.
2. You try to start another instance - which is not possible.
3. IMatch should give a warning that another instance of IMatch is already running.
4. Then you get a second icon in the task bar?

I saw this on my W8 system too. When Imatch was not running I created a short cut on my desktop and then pinned the short cut to the taskbar. When I started Imatch, a second icon showed up. I found a workaround which may help to pin down the problem. For me it works correctly when I pin the icon to the taskbar when Imatch is already running. Right click on the icon and use the context menu "Pin to taskbar".

1. Pinned IMatch on Taskbar (left arrow)
2. Click on IMatch on Taskbar to open it
3. Second "3D"-Symbol pop up (--> open Programm Icon) (right arrow)

Isn't that normal? I see that here for many applications I have pinned, e.g. Office, iTunes,
I pin them. When I want to start them I click on the pinned icon. Then another icon opens for the app in the free area of the task bar.
I have no influence on this.

Currently IMatch is the only software, which shows this behaviour, but because of the way I pinned it. Have to check this out. :-)

No; correct behaviour, so long as the taskbar buttons option is "Always combine" is that a program pinned to the taskbar that is not running, when it is run, should replace the pinned shortcut icon.
The workaround, as mentioned above, is to run IMatch, then to pin the running version to the taskbar and remove the other one (if necessary).

There is something incorrect about the shortcut lnk that the installer creates and puts on the start menu - I think its related to the AppId not being set correctly; try http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2820983/how-do-i-set-appusermodelid-on-shortcut for more information.

Mario

Why does Microsoft everything so complicated and then force us to buy 1,500 US$ "pro" install software for another vendor just to be able to create a shortcut in the task bar?

Don't expect a "fix" for this anytime soon.

Thank you for the tip, even if it worked perfectly before.    ;-)
