Is this OK?

This is one for the native speakers:

I plan to offer the IMatch 5 help file as a separate download on my web site. This is for users who prefer to look at the help before they download a software. I think that the IMatch 5 help file is top-notch (thanks to all the users who sent in corrections and feedback) and thus should make a good impression on potential users.

I'm currently updating the download site and other sections of photools.com to match the new CI and "look" of IMatch 5. I plan to tease the help file download with a separate banner. Is the spelling / formulation correct?

Yes, looks good.

It'll be interesting to see the downloads stats.

The spellling looks good to me (well, you know, I would NOT see, if it would be wrong)  ;) 8)

BUT this decistion of you, Mario, to put online the helpfile, is a great plus, from my point of view! Very good done!
Best wishes from Switzerland! :-)

Probably it's just me, but I don't like the duplicate use of the word 'download' in the banner.

Just another throw:

Download the complete IMatch 5 Help File
and convince yourself IMatch is the right solution for you

I found IMatch 5 help file to be top-notch before any of us sent feedback. I was highly impressed right from the beginning and I still am. You did an outstanding job.

Or perhaps ... to avoid the use of the non-positive word "unsure" ... the banner could offer this:

Download the IMatch 5 Help File
and assess IMatch 5's features for yourself.

  or instead ... (if there's enough text-space)

Download the IMatch 5 Help File
and see how well IMatch 5 can meet your needs.

or else ... (omitting the word 'can')

Download the IMatch 5 Help File
and see how well IMatch 5 suits your needs.

or again ... (using the easy-to-scan but cumbersome word 'requirements' ?)

Download the IMatch 5 Help File
and judge whether
IMatch 5 suits your requirements.

or use 'purposes' instead of 'requirements' ?

Download the IMatch 5 Help File
and see whether
IMatch 5 suits your purposes.

(Whew! I always found 'marketing' to be the toughest part of my work!!)

The word "whether" typically introduces alternatives, linked with an "or". As your question doesn't provide an alternative to downloading the help file (and why should it?  ;D), grammatically, your question should include the implied alternative, thus:

"If you are unsure whether or not IMatch 5 is for you . . . "

That's now pretty wordy, and the whole sentence becomes a fairly long run on". With verbiage, less is nearly always more. I suggest restructuring it a little by breaking it up into a simpler question followed by an imperative action, thus:

Not sure if IMatch 5 is for you?
Download the complete help file and see for yourself.

(FYI - I really love products that openly publish their documentation. Also, echoing others' sentiments here - the IMatch 5 help file is phenomenally useful.)
Over the hill, and enjoying the glide.

I like ColinIM's formulation:
QuoteDownload the IMatch 5 Help File
and see how well IMatch 5 suits your needs.

and see how IMatch 5 will suit your needs.

I think I'll go with (in context):

Good choice, Mario.  It's clear, simple language.  Colin did a good job with the variations he suggested.

A very good decision I think, Mario  8)

Probably too late to comment but I think your original version was fine and if anything read slightly more fluently than the suggested alternative. However, I'd have left out any question of its suitability which has slightly negative connotations (the buyer can make an informed decision but you need do no more than offer the help file).

What I would do is make a positive statement along these lines:

Download the IMatch Help File

To appreciate the full versatility of IMatch, download the complete help file and see for yourself!

or
Download the complete help file now and see what IMatch can do for you!

This affords another positive plug for the software and will leave no unnecessary doubt in the potential customer's mind.

Hi.

a little bit of topic, but I think that having a video that shows the bells and whistles, will be much more effective to attract the people than the help file. Nowadays the people do not want to read to much text. I also prefer to look at a short video - say about 2 or 3 minutes - to get a first picture of the software.

I don't say that the download of the help file will not help to convince new customers. I sometimes do that either, but I do not see that it is much important. If I start reading a manual I shortly want to try things out. Hence I mostly download the trial software right away instead of downloading the helpfile first.

Just my 2 cents.

I would love to put some contents up on YouTube, but unfortunately there is only one Mario and I have too much to do right now.

Adobe has entire departments for this kind of task, and users put up "How-to" videos of Adobe products (or basically everything else) on YouTube too. Maybe some IMatch 5 users, once it is publicly available, will do the same.

QuoteNowadays the people do not want to read to much text.

I noticed this too. When I search for the answer of a simple PR or LR question, the first five results in Google usually link to YouTube videos where you have to watch some guy doing the task in PS or LR, requiring two video minutes to explain it. And Google blends in ads all around it, sometimes even in the video. Ads, Ads, Ads...

A simple "Use the bla command from the bla menu" would have done the same. Maybe a screen shot.

But simple answers don't sell ads or increase your search engine rep, your Likes, G+ counter or whatchanameits...
