I've just proudly purchased the official release of IMatch 5!  With respect to the Beta version, I've just simply installed each new release over top of the old, without any uninstalling, whatsoever.  What I now want to know is are the Beta versions and the official two separate programs?  Should I first uninstall the Beta version, or would installing the new official release version of IMatch 5 simply convert the Beta into the official product?

Do exactly what you have been doing with the beta versions, just install the official release over the old one. No need to do anything else.

Enjoy  :)

The licensed version replaces existing Beta versions (or trial versions) automatically.

I tried to upgrade today(I have a license to 3.6 and have been participating in the Beta program). Filled out all of the online purchase info and downloaded the trial version in the mean time but it will only open databases read only even though it was just installed today with 30 days remaining on the trial.

I have been using the Beta version. Today I bought the Release Version 5.1.1. But it takes 24 hours to get cleared by Share-it so I installed the 30 day trial version to get going. But databases can only be opened in "Read-Only" mode. I can select the read only menu choice  and  un-select it in the Database menu but it dose not change the mode from Read Only(red bar in lower right).

Did you click by accident on "Menu - Open Databases read only"

If you don't pay by credit card or PayPal, share-it has to validate your information.

Quoteso I installed the 30 day trial version to get going.

You have installed the trial version. The trial version opens all databases older than 30 days in read-only mode only.

But it says: 30 days remaining...
So I thought it should not be read only. Or am I missing something?

All databases older than 30 days are read-only in the trial version.

If a user un-installs and re-install a trial version, tampers with the registry and other settings, installs the licensed version and then demands a charge-back by his credit card company or installs IMatch in a VirtualPC / VirtualBox in order to start fresh every 30 days - all this does not affect the 30 day database limit.

The typical usage scenario is not that a user who has created a database in the Beta version then installs a trial version on top of the Beta.
The typical scenario is a user installing the trial version, work with it for 30 days, and then either buys or un-installs.
If a user needs more than 30 days to evaluate IMatch (most buy after a week, or never) (s)he can just create a new database and work again for 30 days with it.

I got it too.

Should have not run the upgrade until I had the Share-it confirmation. I live overseas and always have payment issue with Share-it because my IP address does not match my payment country. It will work out but takes a few days of emails and phone calls.
