Could we please have a scripting method for triggering propagation, that is doing the same as the F4,R key sequence?

I assume that the method would be a method of a file.

If you also choose to implement this feature request:

then I ask that the scripting method do the same.  I.e.  if the file is a master then propagation would be to all versions; if the file is a version, only propagate to that version; and if the file is neither then do nothing.

A versatile optional argument would be to be able to specify which Relation Definition (the Versioning part) to apply.

I just finished trying to cause a propagation to be triggered by adding a (dummy) category to a master
and then removing it. Did not get far though because of some bug which stops propagation of some categories
- totally confused at the moment and out of energy to investigate further/report.

It might be nice if the method worked depending on the file being processed within the script.

e.g. If the the method is attempted on a master file, perhaps it propagates to all versions.  But if the method is run on a file that is a version, the propagation is to that one version only. (I kind of wish this was the option with respect to the F4,R command/shortcut).

A Propagate method has been added for IMatch 5.1.14.
