Hi, these files do not show up, I have FPV loaded but not able to see them.

Mario

The extensions .DCR, .DCS and .KDC are configured by default.

When you say "don't show up" do you mean the files are not added to the database or that no thumbnails / previews are available?

Files are in the Database, on one directory I experimented with converting some images to .DNG next to .DCR, and the DNG files show fine. The DCR file just have on the screen a small 1x1 cm icon.

Please select one of the problem files and then go a Help menu > Support > WIC Diagnostics.
Attach the resulting report to your reply. This will tell us if the WIC codec is performing correctly.

Also, rescan one of the files via the Rescan command in the context menu. Hold down the <Ctrl> key when you choose that command to get the extended options dialog. In the dialog, choose Force Update.

Also attach the IMatch log file (see IMatch help for details) from this IMatch session. Enable the Debug logging via Help menu > Support > Debug logging.

Hmm ... well Win Explorer shows the files as images, but faststone image viewer 4.8 does not. Forced update on one file made no difference.

The WIC diagnostics looks good. But still the imaging library in IMatch fails to load the file with an "unknown file format" error.
Can you send me the file? See my contact details below in my signature.

Hi Mario, dont let this slow you down on getting out the upgrade to the beta  ... I can live with this till down the track.

Interestingly, 3.5 reads them fine.

Mario

The 3.5 uses (ancient) Kodak components if no matching WIC codec is installed.
For IMatch 5 I'd rather not longer include these components because Kodak never updated them and they can cause a lot of problems and potential security risks as well. I tested the FPV WIC codecs against my Kodak sample files and they worked well. Except that for some images without an embedded profile the colors were off. This is because Kodak implemented color profiles as external files, and only their own DLLs know how to load them - my guess.

Mario

I have received the DCR file. Thanks.

Downloaded it into a folder, added the folder to IMatch 5. The image showed up without a hitch, preview, viewer all OK. See screen shot in my email to you.

I use the FPV codec pack 3.5.0.78 (You can see this in the FPV control panel app, just type FastPicture in the Windows START menu).

Thanks for the info that the file works for you. I am at a loss now regarding this, as it works in FPV here ( 3.5.0.79 ), works in windows explorer, ACDSee pro 6 , Aftershot Pro, but not in IM5 or Fasstone viewer  .... I guess it will be needed to be put in the too weird basket for now.

Thanks for confirming its working on your machine  ....  I will work around it.

What's strange is that the WIC diagnostics looks good for this file, yet IMatch still runs into an error while loading it on your machine. Maybe the FPV codecs with the .79 build (I have .78) is the culprit? Perhaps a newer version will work?
