So far I have used IM5 as administrator on my user account.  I work on 2 databases - named A & B.

I have set up another user account for my wife.   She wishes to use this account to access her images in IM5's database B.   Attempting to run IM5 in her account produces a dialog to choose the interface language (not something which happens in my user account).  Having done that an critical error dialog appears stating that IM cannot be opened.  Her security setting for the Imatch5.pts file is Read & Execute.  I cannot find howto upgrade this.  I have read the help topics and cannot find anything relevant to this.

I would be grateful for help please.

Windows denied write access to the settings database. Make sure all users who need to work with IMatch have read/write/modify access to that file. This is the default.

Thank you Mario.

I have gone over the permissions again and they are as shown in the attachment.  IM now opens in my wife's space without request for language, but then displays the error shown in the other attachment.  When the error dialog is extinguished, the blank IM workspace is read only.  When opened by the other user (me/admin) , there is no problem.  The .pts file is held in my user's files.

So the settings database is no writable for your wife.
The same problem will be the database. You have created it with your user account in your personal documents folder. Windows by default prevents other users from accessing your personal data.

Move the database into a shared folder and give all users full access.

Note: When you work under an Admin account, Windows creates some files in some locations with access for admins only. Keep that in mind when creating files of any kind which are later to be shared.

Thanks again, Mario.  I have moved the databases to a subfolder in Public Documents and IM now runs in both user accounts.

In my wife's account, it does not invite me to back-up on closing.  Why?

Mario

Each user has separate settings. Check the settings your wife has for backup. And the "when to run" is also counted per user. If you set a week and your wife has opened the database first time today, it will take one week for the message to show up.
