Issues in Duplicating a DB for testing purposes

I want to create more than one DB for testing purposes.  What I'd like to do it get all my preferences how I'd like them in an empty DB, and then duplicate it.  What worries me is the cache.  If I set a folder for the cache in preferences like D:\IMatch5Cache, then the actual cache folder is something like  D:\IMatch5Cache\28DE48FA-DD03-4F5B-9681-8249AD98F7C6.   In the duplicate DB the same folder is going to be used.   Is there a problem with this or do I need to change the folder in preferences?

I have been doing this, but the question never occurred to me and I cannot answer it.  But it seems to work OK, unless the problem which I raised in the general bug board ( https://www.photools.com/community/index.php?topic=356.0 ) is caused by doing this.

Did you read the instructions in the help how to separate databases after copying them by generating a new database id under Edit > Preferences > Database?

This is mentioned under the Settings Database topic and the Database topic (just click <F1> when you have the above dialog open, or search the help index for Database, Copying)

I blush to the roots of my hair (and there is not much of it left).  I had read the page, but that point had not registered, as I was not thinking at the time of djuplicating databases.

The important point is, that there is a way to solve the problem  :)
I'm personally too greedy to loose any hair  ;D ::)

My problem is that, due to age and the work of the medical profession, I have no hair left to blush to the roots of.

I have read this before and have forgotten it.  No doubt also caused by age and the after-effects of the medical profession.
