Hello all,

I have a full-geotagged pic (geocoded with another program). Now I'd like to create a location (Favorite) from this information with lon, lat, Country, Location etc.

If I select that file and choose fromm"create location" from the Map, only the coordinated are pre-filled, but not all other values like Altitude, State, ZIP, City and location.

Any idea how to deal with that?

Regards,
Christian

Locations only get the coordinates from the map, not the geo-coded address.
You need to fill that in manually. Just click on the Lookup button in the Location dialog box.

What a pitty, because information is available.

Anyhow, I'll fill it manually again.

Thanks Mario.

You might take a look at Metadata Templates.  In the metadata panel I have a special panel I use just for creating metadata location templates from the selected file's GPS and location fields.  Once created I can assign that saved location to other files.

See attached screen shot.

+1 to using metadata templates for location information. They work quite well.

What Geosetter does in effect is to link its equivalent of a metadata template to the location favourite, so that you can assign both in one action.  Something similar would be nice.  Not essential, but nice all the same.

You can indeed use Metadata Templates for a much more flexible functionality.

I changed the "Create Location" feature in the Geo Panel anyway to pre-fill available location data (city, location, country) if the file from which the location is created has this information.

Thank you.  I think that makes a lot of sense.  I assume that state/province is also included.

Yes, if the file has the data. The problem is ZIP/postel code, which is supported by IMatch locations but not really by the EXIF/XMP location data. But you can always press the "Lookup" button right in the location dialog to get that data. Or to reverse-geode the location before saving it.
