Mario,
please can there be an option to set left justification in the panel which shows "Media & Folders"  and "Categories" and to save that setting for the next IMatch session. It seems to default to centre justification which I find not very useful.

thank you
Chris

Mario

Which justification do you mean? The tree control elements?
Tree controls are always left justified (unless you use a RTL layout) and Windows will automatically scroll the tree to the right when the focused entry is not completely visible. In this case, just make the panel wider.

I'm not shure, but I think Chris wants (like me  :) ), that IMatch opens in that place (on the left side inside the tree), were it been left. For example: My last activate folder was "Cytologie". If I open IMatch, it would be nice, when it is cytologie again. But maybe I understand Chris wrong.  :D

Mario

IMatch automatically restores the last focused folder when it restarts. The folder and the expanded/collapsed states are stored in the workspace.
Do you say that IMatch selects a 'random' folder in the Media & Folders View when you restart it? It just checked and it works.

But just, if you start the same database. If you change the database, it starts with a folder somewhere else.

Mario

This information is stored per database.

Hi Mario,
I have attached 2 screenshots. "just_normal" shows how the panel normally opens.
"just_Left" shows how I would like it to open and reopen.
Otherwise I have to use the slidebar every time to see the tree icons and the + and - signs, or I have to have the panel wider than I would like.

Yes: But not if you start meanwhile another database.

Example:
1. Database 1: close on "Biologie"-Folder
2. Start Database 2.
3. Close Database 2.
4. Start Database 1: NOT "Biologie", but something else is marked.

But this is another problem, than Cris wants to be solved.

...

As said, Windows will automatically scroll the tree control to make the focused entry entirely visible. IMatch does not try to work against this by forcing the tree to scroll all the way to the left. Not only makes the Windows automatism sense, but if I would forcefully scroll the window to the left, users would complain because they cannot see the entire folder name...

I would consider this an constructed and exceptional situation. How often do you create databases? Most users create one database in the entire usage span for IMatch...

Sorry, Mario, I don't want to hijack this. I thought this would be the same problem.
