Should propagation cascade? NEF->DNG->Jpg propagates to DNG only

I have the following versioning set-up:
NEF --> jpg   Does not show/work when a dng file exists - as expected
NEF --> DNG
DNG --> jpg

Propagation is from NEF to DNG if NEF is changed.
Propagation is from DNG to jpg if DNG is changed.
Should Propagation not cascade? If a change occurs
in the DNG file due to propagation, should it then not propagate to the jpg file?


Feb 12th: Still hoping for an answer. Or should I file it as a bug?
