Can some please help with Pack & Go, I cannot get it to work on my main Database of 42k plus photos so I created a small test Database with just 33 photos.
The test Database was copied over to my laptop and from the copy it recreated perfectly with the 6 correct categories.
On my main PC I added 4 new photos and changed to 8 categories, added the photos to the laptop exactly as the PC and then ran Pack on my main PC.
I received the successfully completed messages for both Pack and Verify, so far so good.
Copied the Impag file directly to the lap top and ran restore which also gave the successfully completed message.
Opening the data base in the normal way, is this correct, as the help isn't very helpful detailing this area, I found nothing had changed, the categories had not modified, I ran it again as administrator but again nothing.
My work around is to simply copy the IMD5 file across, works perfectly and doesn't appear to take much longer with the full data base the issue is I have to relocate the data base photos, no problem on the test, takes a little while on the main database of 1,591,112 KB (the Impag file 997,934KB).
What am I missing?

I understand that after you have restored the database via Pack & Go, and open it in IMatch, it still opens the old database?
Please check if you restore into the correct folders, if the database file in the file system really changes etc.
If you replace a database with a newer version from another PC (either via P&G of by a simple file copy), IMatch will open it automatically because the file name does not change.

Always attach all log files to your post (zipped) so we can see what P&G was doing, where it did restore the files, if there were any file permission issues etc.

There are several of us for whom P&G doesn't seem to work.  Your symptoms are similar to mine.  See

In the first of these threads Mario says "In all these cases, just setting the file system privileges for the folder C:\ProgramData\photools.com\IMatch5 correctly once in Windows Explorer solves the troubles." but I can assure you that's not the case for me.  I've double checked.  And I can do the same thing manually using drag and drop, which wouldn't be possible if there was a problem with permissions.

I assume that the P&G archive is a compressed file of some sort, like a zip or rar or something.  If I knew what it was, then I could just open it and copy the files from the archive to the correct locations myself.

When P&G fails to restore a file, it's almost always a file system privilege issue. IMatch reports these issues in the protocol and also in the log file, something like "Failed to create file" or "Failed to open file". If you transfer data between two systems, always check the security settings. That's cause of trouble in 99% of all cases.

You are correct I run P&G and the database does not alter from its previous state
I am a little confused when you say restore to the correct folders, this is the point I do not understand from the help screen and where I feel it may be going wrong.
I save the impag file to a folder and open it in the P&G application from there, I do not change the restore to folders as I am unsure what to change it to, as I am now opening on a different computer should I be directing it to a new folder, if so where are the folders?

By default, IMatch restores to the correct folders (program data).
For the database, this depends. You need to check where your database is on the target system, and to which folder you restore the database in Pack & Go.
Since you can create your database anywhere.

The log reports

Restored
C:\_A_ Users\00 Brian\01 Photos\IMatch Test only\Data base\IMatch Database.imd5'
to
C:\_A_ Users\00 Brian\01 Photos\IMatch Test only\Data base\IMatch Database.imd5' (22.19 MB).

Make sure that this is the database you open on the other system.

If a file is skipped because a newer file exists, the file is reported as skipped in the protocol.

Thank you it is now working, I could see from the log report you attached that there wasn't that destination on the laptop, but I found that P&G had recreated it.
For anyone else having these issues and I have to say what wasn't clear to me in the instructions is that the P&G application creates a new set of folders within the folder you specify and a new imd5 file is found within those new folders, I was expecting the original imd5 to update.
Thanks
Brian

Pack & Go can only restore to the original folders (unless you tell it otherwise).
If you keep the database on the target system in another folder, P&G has no way to know about this. You need to move the database after the restore manually.
