I've one file type that refuses to display in IMatch5.3.12.
It's a .ppp file from 'PagePlus x8' which previews properly on the windows desktop, but not in IMatch.

I looked into WIC ...yet I don't suspect it's the issue here.

Any thoughts?

I'm not sure what I could do about this. You are not giving me a lot of information here...

Did you check the log file for error messages related to the file?
When IMatch encounters an unsupported file format, it asks Windows to provide a thumbnail. If this fails, IMatch displays the file as an icon.
The error message returned by Windows will be written to the log file.

Did you upload the file as a sample somewhere so I can look at it (you can also send it by email).
I doubt that there is a WIC codec for PagePlus, unless the vendor of PagePlus provides one.

Just posted an email to you with enclosed .ppp & log file.

That may help...and thanks for your efforts!

Mario

I get the same message as contained in your log file.
Windows returns an "unknown file format / not supported" error message when IMatch asks for a thumbnail/preview.

Cannot do more. Ask your application vendor for a WIC codec or a shell extension for Windows. IMatch will then use this automatically.

OK...I'll approach Serif.  Thanks again for your time and attention!

You could create JPEG "previews" in the original application and store this JPEGs in the same folder or a sub-folder.
Then make them a buddy of the PPP, and also a version and set the "visual proxy" option. IMatch then uses the JPEG files to represent the PPP files, for thumbnails, previews, in the Viewer etc.
