I just started to use Automatic background indexing. When I add a new sub-folder it does not pick it up.
Is that as it should be?

Changes (other than new subfolders) inside indexed folders are picked up OK.

This is intentional.

Check Edit > Preferences > Indexing : Advanced file system monitoring and the corresponding help and make sure you understand the consequences and implications before enabling it.

Thanks - I think the advanced file system monitoring will work for my workflow.

I am wondering if this option would not be better placed under the background processing tab?
(Or maybe have a note displayed which points to this option.)

Mario

This has nothing to do with background processing. It belongs to the other options which are used when IMatch is indexing folders and monitoring the file system.

Moving this option to another place after is has been where it is right now for two years (including the IMatch alpha and beta tests) would not only be expensive in man hours (changing two dialogs, updating several help pages, new screen shows, new translations etc.) but would probably also confuse many users.
